The forum logs me out arbitrarily

A strange thing keeps happening from time to time on this forum: while browsing through forum posts I'm suddenly logged out, and the last request to the forum was around 10 seconds ago.
I'm aware of the "Always keep me logged in" checkbox on the login page, however, is there any such time limit on the total time one can stay logged in to the forum?

If you keep active then your session will be refreshed. If your IP changes, however, it may log you out as a security measure if your login is not stored as a permanent session by keeping yourself logged in that way.

I'm rather sure of the fact that the IP should not change.
Since you have control of the server, and will thus have access to logs and such, could you look into what's causing this? It seems to happen rather frequently and I was logged out just a few minutes ago.

If you are sharing an IP with other people (i.e. through a campus gateway) and you do not let the browser store your login permanently in a cookie, then the forum may log you out if a different session is initiated from the same IP.
I find it interesting at least that you share an IP with another well-known user of this forum in a very, very small netblock.

Yes, the connection is shared by hundreds of people over a WiFi connection.
edit: offtopic section removed for being way too offtopic.

Then there's your "problem"

You'll have to make sure to remember your login permanently.
