Disappeared private messages? Topic is solved

I've received notification about private message yesterday, but message link is broken.
Is that some bug or it's intended?
Someone reads and deletes private messages?
Searching for sending username gets some profiles in internet, but not on this forum, so it's likely to be some deleted user, even not banned profile...

The exact same happened to me too, at the same time as well. Also, a notice of a reply to a thread, but it didn't want to show me the thread either (I found it on my own, since it was the last thread I replied to as expected).

There was a spammer who sent private messages to active users. The spammer account got nuked (including the PMs) but the notifications aren't automatically cleaned up when that happens, so it'll lead nowhere.
