Is there any plans of implementing dark mode on the main forum?

The forum already has this feature.
Open up the User Control Panel > Board preferences.
Set My board style to pycode (dark theme) or dark-subsilver2.
Alternatively, you might want to try out Swarth.

I use pycode (dark theme) and it looks great.
