Not Receiving Email Notifications
Recently, I stopped receiving email notifications of posts I've subscribed to. I checked my settings and all is fine. I deselected and reselected email notifications, but no change took place. I do receive an alert of notifications at the top of the forum page. Any suggestions?

Just a guess...
Maybe it's related to the hardware/servers being reorganised that's announced here...?

Re: Not Receiving Email Notifications
I checked the database and while you are subscribed to a few hundred topics, the notify status of all of them is "0" so I'm assuming that means no notification.
Did you change your user setting for notifications? Please be aware that you must receive in-board notifications for e-mail notifications to work (that's a phpBB limitation) so if you disabled that, then e-mail will also have been shut off.

Re: Not Receiving Email Notifications
I raised this issue in another thread, then the OP said he had noticed it too. Moonchild said he tested it and it worked.
I've looked at User Control Panel. In several places it deals with notifications/subscriptions. Not sure what's what here exactly, but the only, or at least most questionable, thing I see there is the following:
Notice it says, "You are not subscribed to any forums." Is this the same as "notifications?" I dunno.
At least three people have mentioned this, so somethin's goin' on.

Re: Not Receiving Email Notifications
I haven't changed any settings since joining the forum. I am receiving in-board notifications in the upper right corner of the forum page.
Here is a screenshot of my notification settings:

Re: Not Receiving Email Notifications
Mine says the same thing. If you read the sentence above it, it states "Below is a list of forums and topics you are subscribed to." and to unsubscribe, you have to mark the box and click the button in the lower right corner of the page. Curious

Re: Not Receiving Email Notifications
OK I did a little test and subscribed to this topic, then checked the database. I'm not sure what notify_status is used for in there because my e-mail is on for it and it's still set to 0. So that's not what I thought it was then.
if someone else can reply here as a test I can see if I get an e-mail when that's done, and if not maybe figure out what's wrong.
EDIT: I think I figured it out. cron job for the forum wasn't running properly.
Sorry if you're getting a sudden flood of queued up mails now

Apparently we're back to this problem again. I did not get notified about the 2 recent posts in my much-beloved topic about WVXU in Web Compatibility Support.

Weird. it was queued up again, yet the cron job is fine when manually run.

Well I don't know. I've made a change that makes little sense but who knows. php can be a bit weird sometimes.
