Notification for SEO and Link Builders

Unread post by Admin » 2013-06-10, 11:45

There have been several requests for link building and a semi-constant influx of people trying to make SEO link posts.
The policy maintained on the Pale Moon website, on the forum, and other related web resources:
  • One-way link building
This is a method of artificially creating links between web sites (Site A -> Your Site -> Site B) with people contacting site owners to make the -> link with no further advantage in that link. Requests like this for Pale Moon's website will never be honored, because:
    1. There is no way for a site owner to check if the -> (incoming) link actually exists. This is by far the most important reason to not honor these requests as it gives Site B the advantage of a link, while you get nothing out of it.
    2. Ranking of both Site A and Site B will influence your site's ranking.
    3. If either Site A or especially Site B has a bad reputation (e.g. malware), it will reflect badly on your site and may even get traffic blocked.
  • SEO posts on the forum
This, plain and simple, is SPAMMING. The Pale Moon forum will not allow these kinds of posts and posting SEO comments or topics will get your ass banned in a hurry. Don't even try (please don't, as it's unneeded work and you are creating digital waste)
It is also Search Engine Cheating, and search engine operators can and will punish (target) sites supporting and performing these practices.
I will not (now or ever) condone or agree with synthetic linking as it will in the long run decrease the value and ranking of the site for audiences due to synthetic linking and association with "black hat" SEO "providers".

I prize myself on providing only valued, relevant, hand-picked and organic links on the website, and keeping a vigilant check on SEO SPAM.
Did you know that moral outrage triggers the pleasure centers of the brain? It's unlikely you can actually get addicted to outrage, but there is plausible evidence that you can become strongly predisposed to it.
