GE.TT added to palemoon.org

Post by Moonchild » 2011-09-01, 22:42

The website now has GE.TT added as a file hosting mirror with direct links.
Speed of this cloud-based network should be (blazingly) fast, but from my own location I can't really judge what it's like from other places in the world.

If you want to give it a test, and post the results here (include your location!), that would be great!

Thanks in advance.

Houston, Texas
1.5Mbps DSL

Sity 125kbps avg. (ChromePlus!)
GE.TT 140kbps avg. (ChromePlus!)

Just a quickie so no in-depth analysis.

Edit: Guys, don't use my format, there might be things you all could include that I didn't. :)

Sity 135kbps avg. (Pale Moon)
GE.TT 150kbps avg. (Pale Moon)

Puh, in a short test Sity was much faster:

Europe\Austria
50Mbit Cable = mostly 6MB/s

Sity (done in half a sec - couldn't check speed)
GE.TT (took 7 seconds - from sec 2-7 it was ~1MB/s)

I'm not really surprised from Austria, Sity is plugged into the EU backbone, pretty much.

I'm especially interested how the two compare for other locations around the globe, so I can make a load-balancing web-installer depending on location, picking the fastest mirror depending on location.
