404 on the technical details page

Unread post by moonbat » 2019-09-01, 15:36

On the technical details page, under the 'differences from Mozilla products' section, the link shown throws a 404.
Changes were made to the user interface and feature set, to incorporate functionality and visual elements in different locations than what was chosen by the Mozilla team, as well as retaining or re-introducing useful elements that were removed in Firefox, and either removing or disabling (by default) components that would not be used by the average user. In addition, some other user interface changes were made to provide an as consistent and intuitive interface as possible while still staying close to what Firefox's goals have always been. This means the "Australis" interface will never be used in Pale Moon.

It seems to be heavily snap-shotted.

Found it!
Moonchild, why was it removed? Seems like a good description of UI elements and justification for retaining them.

If I had to take a wild guess, I'd say it was because the details about Australis no longer apply to the modern Firefox Quantum UI.

With the further diversion from Mozilla the stress is no longer on "how is this different from Firefox" and the article really no longer served a purpose to have its own dedicated page on the website. I want to keep as much of the website relevant to what matters today, not what at one point was a topic of discussion years ago.
