redirect palemoon.org to https

Unread post by Offset » 2019-04-25, 13:30

If anybody goes to http://www.palemoon.org/ they end up staying in plain http. They should instead be automatically redirected to https://www.palemoon.org/ (just as already happens for the forum site). The same change needs to be done for http://addons.palemoon.org

I assume this is just an oversight.

Both redirect to HTTPS for me.

I can confirm that both pages do not redirect for me.

Maybe you've got HTTPS Everywhere or similar installed?

This has been discussed plenty of times before.

Pale Moon's website is offered on both protocols on purpose. There is no added value to redirecting people to https for public information, and doing so would kill accessibility of the website for everyone who, for any reason, cannot establish a proper https channel.

For me http://www.palemoon.org/ loads slightly quicker than https://www.palemoon.org/. I prefer that to slower.

Encryption takes time. See the Blog Post on the forum about HTTPS.
