Suggestion: Removing forum title from RSS feed

Unread post by htuyar » 2019-01-01, 10:29

I'm wondering if it would be OK to remove the forum title from the RSS feed of a forum (if they include them, like the "Browser extensions" forum). I'm running Basilisk with the Feed Sidebar addon and the sidebar is not large enough to see the topic title, the forum title takes up most of the space in the sidebar. Here's a screenshot:

I could increase the width of the sidebar but by the time the topic is readable, the sidebar becomes way too large. It would be nice if the "Browser extensions" part would be removed and the entry would be just the topic title.

Thanks and happy new year to everyone.

It's probably an idea to swap the title elements to have the board name be a suffix rather than a prefix.

EDIT: I've made a specific edit to board-based feeds, to swap the board name and post title position. Does that work for you?

Feed titles reverted back to the "forum title - post title" format recently. Any chance to switch to "post title - forum title" format again?

That would have been because of the migration to 3.2 -- fixed.

Thanks Moonchild, I guessed that was the case. But as biopsin reported, the titles are now just bullet points.

That... makes no sense. All I did was swap the reference...

EDIT: I just tested the feed and it seems to work for me? (BM toolbar+sidebar+menu all show correctly)

Just bullet points instead of post titles here too.

For the last couple of days.
Using a different rss client than mentioned above.

Check the feeds of individual sections, for example this one.

Right, I see it now.

And it still doesn't make sense at all.
