Brief downtime

Unread post by Moonchild » 2011-09-28, 20:24

The forum was down briefly today because I had to go in and reconfigure the fans in the little PC I use as a server.

Just a note for anyone else out there who has a Dell Optiplex SX270: if you don't want your components to be toasted by hot air, reverse the fans below the heatsink so they pull air in from the top of the case and blow it out the bottom. If you don't, you will end up with a ruined motherboard in less than a year because of cooked components.
You'll have to swap the little rubber feet on the fans but it can all be done in 15 minutes without tools.
