[SOLVED - for now] Missing avatar in http; is there in https

I notice when browsing the forum in http, my avatar doesn't show up, like in the screen shot below. But if I add the "s" to http in the address bar and hit enter, then it does show up. Is this a problem on my computer, or on the website?

This is a security/ privacy feature.

You can block non secure scripts on HTTPS site and non secure normal elements like pictures on HTTPS sites.
First is default, second not. Maybe you enable the second option?

Check this option in Pale Moon commander:
pm commander.png
I always use the https version and i see your avatar with that settings.

Edit: Thanks Moonchild. My mistake

dark_moon: this would be the other way around, if you use https and an avatar is served over http - so this doesn't apply here.
Also, the avatars and page content are served from the same location, so that also makes this N/A here.

OP, have you tried clearing your cache or doing a force reload (ctrl+F5)...? What does the web console say when you are missing the avatar?

Clearing the cache and Ctrl+F5 does not work.

Did you change the way referrers are sent, or are you using an extension to enforce https?
The avatars are served the same way files/attachments are served on the forum, and they make strict security checks to prevent hotlinking. This may not combine well with too strict client-side enforcement.

I am not using any extensions to force https. For referrers, I have no idea what that is, so I guess my answer to that is, no.

about:config tweaks (I know some are irrelevant, but I thought I'd better post them anyway):

1) dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled to false
2) browser.chrome.toolbar_tips to false
3) browser.bookmarks.max_backups to 2
4) noscript.doNotTrack.enabled to false
5) security.dialog_enable_delay to 0
6) network.http.speculative-parallel-limit to 0
7) dom.vibrator.enabled to false
8) mousewheel.min_line_scroll_amount to 60

Linux Mint 17.3 - Mate
Pale Moon for Linux, 26.2.2 (64 bit)
Extensions: ABL - NoScript - Decentraleyes

So is there anything else I can check or do?

Well, for the last few days the problem has disappeared. MC, did you do anything to fix it? I haven't done anything on my computer that could have fix it (as far as I know). So I'll mark it as "Solved-for now."

Nothing has been changed on this end.

It must have been those pesky gremlins again. :) I wish they'd leave my computer alone.
