Dark theme available

Post by Moonchild » 2016-04-06, 09:10

I've worked on getting a dark theme available for the forum for all you night owls.
It should be complete, but please let me know any issues with it.

NOTE: The theme may not work well on other browsers than Pale Moon, as I've not tested it on any and would like to avoid vendor prefixes.

 Huge improvement and I like it a lot but the contrast was a bit hard on my eyes.
I have the add-on called "Color That Site" and was able to tame it just a bit.
For me it's a whole lot easier to read and is a bit easier on my eyes. Tell me what you think.
The coolest thing about this add-on is that you can edit just about any color on the site
or you can do a quick up and down on background and foreground colors like fonts.
Thank you Moonchild for this new color theme.

This is Moonchilds version, you will notice that you can't really see Moonchilds title as it is black.

And here is my edit, now you can clearly see his title and the whites are not so harsh.

Using dark greys certainly makes it a little easier on the contrast. which css values specifically did you change, so i can improve the theme?

I tried finding the actual ccs #'s but the add on does not give me that info. It just tells me how many times it appears on the site and what color it was at first and what color it is after I edit it. Do you know of a way that I might find this info somewhere else. I'm kinda a newbie at this.

Just a side note: when I logged on today some of the colors seemed to have changed and I had to do another edit. Of course this could be the add on having problems reading the colors correctly too.

Here is a screen shot of the program edit screen.

While I think the lighter grey looks good, I personally prefer the slightly darker colors currently in use. However, I think an adjustment needs made to the highlight color. It's currently unreadable when using the dark theme.

Adjusted to force black text on highlights. That should fix this ;)
