Cannot disable board notifications
I've enabled all email type notifications and disabled all notification type... notifications. Problem is after a week or so, notifications re-enable themselves automatically (not the e-mail ones, these keep working fine). Trying now to disable them in the Control Panel, and that's not even possible now. After unticking all the right column notifications and pressing Submit, I get "Your Preferences have been updated" and back to the Control Panel they are still all enabled.

Re: Cannot disable board notifications
I can confirm. I can keep them enabled but the number in the page title was driving me crazy.. Can there be an option to disable that only?
It seems that if Email is enabled, so is Notification and to disable Notification means that Email has to be disabled too.

Re: Cannot disable board notifications
It seems the issue is that the forum software does not allow you to disable notifications on the board when you have e-mail enabled for that same notification.
I'd say that's a bug in the forum software.

Re: Cannot disable board notifications
I've made a post on the phpBB support forum for this.

Re: Cannot disable board notifications
Thanks, that number also drives me crazy. Must be an OCD thing.

Re: Cannot disable board notifications
Hi!
I've reported this issue here on January 9. Not it's gettin' worse, I'm afraid.
Now I get Notifications [1] and when clicking on the Mark all read link, I get this:
A phpBB 3.1 bug, I guess.

Re: Cannot disable board notifications
"something went wrong" OMFG i can't stand those "error" messages. They are completely useless.
The administration error log is also completely empty, so I have no idea what the "somewthing" is.
EDIT:
Some response on the bug report

This is by design and is not a bug.
This behavior is changed in upcoming phpBB 3.2, but for phpBB 3.1 there're no plans to do it, afaik.

Re: Cannot disable board notifications
Just changed and saved the same settings on another forum and everything seems fine. Can't know of course which phpBB version they use - is there an update on this?
