[SOLVED] Could not delete a new post, why?

I just tried to delete a new post I made. As I just made it, there wasn't any posts below mine. I checked the box to delete the post on the edit screen and when I clicked submit, I got a message that I'm not allowed to delete posts in the forum. Is this a glitch from the new forum layout?

How long had it been since you created the post?

I'd say it was within 5 minutes of posting it. That's just a guess though, but it was definitely within 10 minutes.

The limit for deleting your own posts is set to 10 minutes currently.
We don't want this to be too long to prevent spammers from coming in, posting something, letting the crawlers catch it and index it, then delete it before staff notices.
It's also to deter trolling behavior.

Moonchild, after I posted this, I immediately tried to delete it. I still got the message that I can't delete posts in the forums. It was definitely within 30 seconds or less when I tried to delete it.

phpBB 3.1 has a new "soft delete" function; this was set to "no" for all roles (I guess because of migrating from 3.0). I've set this to allow now, so maybe that was it?

What happened to the mark as solved function? The last two times I went to mark a thread as solved I couldn't find it.

It has to be enabled on a board-by-board basis. I've only enabled it so far on obvious support boards.
