Just upgraded from PM 26.5
to PM 27.2 (latest - US English).
- Ubuntu Linux 12.04 LTS, 32-bit.
PROBLEM:
No matter what URL I type in the PM Address Bar,
a strange "forward slash" shows up
_on Top_ of the 1st character of the URL I typed.
[Example 1]
if I type:
http://www.nyt.com
the leftmost "h" (in: http), will show in the Address Bar
with the weird "forward slash" superimposed on the "h"...
If I press <Enter>,
the browser will load the NYT home page ok.
[Example 2]
If I type:
about:config
the first "a" character will have
that weird "forward slash" superimposed on the "a"....
If I press <Enter>,
the browser will load about:config ok.
In a new tab,
even if I don't type anything,
the Address Bar message:
"Search or Enter Address"
will show the forward slash on top of the first "S" character...
What is this mysterious first position "forward slash" : "/"
always showing up and
superimposed on any 1st character in the Address Bar,
How do I get rid of it?
Help!

Re: PM v27.2: A "forward slash" shows up in URL/Address Bar on top of first URL character
Ok - found the culprit for
the mysterious forward slash
always showing as a 1st character
in the PM 27.2 Address Bar
among my PM addons:
"LocationBar2"
Very useful addon
to select parts of a URL in the Address Bar,
then click on THAT part (substring),
to go to the clicked sub-URL, directly.
So, it's an URL Highlighter Extension.
Use to work perfectly in PM 26.5...
Anybody know of a substitute addon
which does the same thing
and works in PM 27.2?
Thanks!

Re: PM v27.2: A "forward slash" shows up in URL/Address Bar on top of first URL character
Thank you, JustOFF.
I decided I can survive in PM27.2.0
without the Location2 addon
...useful addon but I'll manage without it.
Btw,
I used your Moon Tester Tool
to install the "Clippings"addon v5.0.2
to my PM 27.2.0.
"Clippings" addon had stopped working
after I upgraded from PM 26.5 to PM 27.2.0.
(under Ubuntu Linux 32-bit).
"Clippings" v5.0.2 installed
and works GREAT!
IMHO, you are a genius JustOFF...

Re: PM v27.2: A "forward slash" shows up in URL/Address Bar on top of first URL character
you can use https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... -enhancer/ for the same functionality as locationbar2
