drag and drop file upload not working

I can't drag a file onto the browser to have it upload, like many forums (including this one) and sharefile.com utilize. The browser seems to recognize I'm about to drop something because it sets up a new upload box to accept it, but when I let go of the mouse while on the upload box, nothing happens. Upload box is still present strangely. I can still use the mouse, so it's not an issue with the mouse. It works in chrome on this forum and sharefile.com. Any ideas?

I'm sure some settings got tweaked. Do you know if this type of issue relates to some specific setting?

Have you tried safe mode or a new profile?

this is a new profile I made about 2 weeks ago. I'll try disabling some add ons I guess

Start in safe mode and if it works, then add the addons one by one.

I have a similar issue w/my x64 PM on Windows 7, and it remains even in Safe Mode.
