GOG not rendering properly

Unread post by Bobert » 2017-06-08, 05:04

Apparently GOG only supports mainstream browsers when I checked the archives.

Their summer sale seems to be missing game thumbnails down lower in the page. I tried a fresh profile and still the same thing.

I truly don't get it, you would think a site selling retro games, catering to nostalgia, would strive for maximum compatibility, have the utmost conservative layout. The design philosophy should should match the spirit of your content, isn't that design 101? There is nothing "good old" in their current site design!

It would make more business sense too, considering the GOG crowd tends to have older hardware and isn't that keen on modernity.

Let's sell decades old software, but our site only works correctly with a 2017 browser, LOL! It's just sad.

Same here. It was working right before the summer sale started and now it doesn't. The thumbnails don't render and the names in the "NEW/UPCOMING/ON SALE" at the bottom don't work either.

GOG.com is probably optimized for GOG Galaxy (their optional game client), which is based on Chromium.

Someone must have whispered in GOG's ear because their site is working now!
