Some weird behaviour with full screen videos

Unread post by Rickkins » 2017-03-08, 18:04

Hi guys,

I noticed some videos don't actually go full screen, at least not properly.

Like this one. http://societyofrock.com/lindsey-buckin ... -expected/

I've no doubt that this is just some minor setting I've missed, as it works fine in other browsers.

Latest x64 Palemoon, win 10 x64

Thanks.

I have the same win10 x64 and PM64 and it worked fine for me. Thus possible reset of your system or new profile in PM.

It's not great, 'print screen' seems only to grab my desktop wallpaper...

Is the browser its self in full screen?

See the problem is your photos don't allow me to see your whole screen.

There are some known glitches in regards to full screen html5 video and full screen browser modes. tl;dr full screen html5 is a bit of a hack on regular full screen mode so sometimes it gets a little confused.

It would be nice to get this resolved but there are bigger fish to fry at the moment.

Ok, fair enough.

Thanks.

Uh, ok the problem seems to have gone away, but I'm not exactly sure what I did.

First, I did the whole "restart with addons disabled" thing, resetting everything, but it did nothing, oddly enough.

Then I was faced with the task of re-enabling manually all my extensions. For reasons that escape me, the problem has disappeared.

Wish I could tell you why, but...

The web isn't a stable place anymore. Sites change how they do stuff in an a/b testing method on live production servers these days. When something doesn't work it gets reverted or fixed but could stay up for a while. Some scripting or procedure failure on the part of a player can trigger this. It would be nice to know WHY it happens so it can be eliminated but most of the time it just goes away when reverted or fixed at the site level. Without knowing why or how this happens it can't be made into a reliable test case and then used to help solve the issue.
