Certain occassions where Palemoon will open FF browser???

I've noticed this glitch several times over the past year I have been using Palemoon Portable x32 and x64 where I also have FF installed on that same drive. What causes this and is there some sort of bleed over from Palemoon for FF to be activated when it was never opened?

In the distant past when it wasn't palemoon.exe but still firefox.exe, it may happen that firing one when the other is open just open a new window of the already opened browser. But with palemoon.exe that's not possible.
And I really don't see how the behavior you describe can happen at all.

Just like you mentioned a website will open a new window that pops up, but it will be FF not Palemoon. Also running x64 Portable and it has happened recently.
