couldn't load XPCOM

Hello,
i downloaded palemoon portable 24.4.1 (last version for X86-32 bit) but when i open Palemoon.exe i always get this error:
COULDN'T LOAD XPCOM
What's the matter ?
P.S. = i already deleted any previous palemoon installation and files.

What operating system are you on? If it's Windows XP, make sure you have Service Pack 3.

i have windows xp home edition but i do not have service pack 3.
Is it mandatory to get SP3 ?

Yes.
I suggest you get it right now, and get all the 4 years or so of hotfixes you have missed as well, before Microsoft shuts down the update service for XP in April.

Windows XP exist since oktober 2001 and the service pack 3 since april 2008 (Support till 8. april 2014 or 13 days since my post)
So why in hell did you not have sp3?
Even if it is better to ugrage now to a new windows version like windows 7 but yes, pale moon need service pack 3
