The new icon looks good to me..
Except that it's almost invisible on some backgrounds (including my own).
Perhaps there could be a thin, blue glow surrounding it, to fix this problem?
BTW; the Phoebus panel still shows the old icon:

How about adding a 3d-effect to it then, resulting in it being slightly darker at the edges?

No. We have completed the 16x16 icon tweak. It's final. The only thing we are willing to do is revert it to the yellow version we first selected.
