Regex URI Filter tab in Preferences

In the past, I have been using Squidguard's URL/URI filtering including blocking from a regular expession list. Since the rise of encrypted connections, it doesn't work there.
How much work would it be to implement a native URL regex filter in Pale Moon using a simple text box in the Preferences for the user input?
