Make choice for MSE?
Hello,
I would like to have user choice for MSE, because MSE from Firefox or Basilisk works much better than yours (on Intel HQ processors videos are lagging and when I set lower CPU power, they are blinking black) .
Thank you in advance. I know, that you maybe haven't got this problem, because you haven't got HQ CPU from Intel. I had 6700HQ and now 4720HQ , on both I have same problem.

Re: Make choice for MSE?
I know about this settings, but when I turn off the MSE in this option, Youtube doesn't have 60FPS quality.

Re: Make choice for MSE?
YouTube does not serve 60FPS videos without MSE.
Re: Make choice for MSE?
I know, and that's my question, is it possible to add original Firefox or Basilisk MSE to options?

Re: Make choice for MSE?
Seriously, what do you want?
You disable MSE, but you want MSE?
If you want MSE, then don't disable it in preferences.
d'uh.

Re: Make choice for MSE?
You mean porting it over to Pale Moon? That was done already as we all know, but because of the unforeseen complexity and amount of time to be able to fix it only parts are really working good. This is no trivial feature to implement or to repair.SGvagon wrote:I know, and that's my question, is it possible to add original Firefox or Basilisk MSE to options?
- https://github.com/MoonchildProductions ... ssues/1119 - Still open and unsolved issue.
- MSE MP4 works good in most cases
This one really can't be dragged over in a simple way.

Re: Make choice for MSE?
I think im kind of lost in translation here.SGvagon wrote:I know, and that's my question, is it possible to add original Firefox or Basilisk MSE to options?
Palemoon has clear options to either turn on or turn off MSE.
What are you wanting exactly......?
user of multiple puppy linuxes..upup,fossapup.scpup,xenialpup.....
Pale moon 29.4.1
Pale moon 29.4.1
Re: Make choice for MSE?
I talking about my problem with Palemoon's MSE and I don't want to turn off it. I have two threads on this forum with this problem (blinking black screen and lagging - after start system and Palemoon, watching videos is unwatchable for few minutes) . In Basilisk or Firefox I don't have this problem (they use MSE too well?). I am not lost in translation, I only want to explain this problem to you. I will try record this problem and then upload on Youtube. As I said in my previous thread, when I set CPU power on less than 100% , 60 FPS videos on Youtube are lagging and blinking black screen much more (only in Palemoon) .
So my question about feature request is, is possible to use MSE from Basilisk or Firefox in Palemoon? (if not, OK I understand that and I will must use 100% power CPU in power plan) .

Re: Make choice for MSE?
The MSE code and media backend as a whole in Basilisk and Firefox are vastly different than Pale Moon has at the moment. As mentioned above it is a very slow process, as the complexity of all this code makes it no small task to port over. It will continue to improve in time, but there are not likely to be any more large changes in this area until Pale Moon has been ported over to UXP (i.e. Pale Moon 28).
Re: Make choice for MSE?
Changing Pale Moon's MSE settings activates on a page refresh so it's quite easy to make occasional exceptions for tricky sites and then revert to the 'normal' settings to continue your browsing session.SGvagon wrote:I talking about my problem with Palemoon's MSE and I don't want to turn off it.

trava90: Thank you for reply. So these problems are known at the moment (blinking black screen in fullscreen or lagging) in Palemoon's MSE ?

Re: Make choice for MSE?
I’ve not experienced that particular issue but even though our media code has been much improved, we are aware that it’s not perfect and there are still issues experienced by some users.
