Multiple-page password remembrance

Unread postby NoOneOfImportance » Thu, 16 Nov 2017, 15:58

Could we build an option we can choose to *FORCE* a page to remember a password?

I don't mean something to disrespect "autocomplete=off" and "onsubmit" javascript hacks (while this would be nice to have built in, there are already external solutions), this is a way to make sites like Google and, now, Amazon, that insist your user and password be on two different pages, to get filled like the single page logins.

I am not an HTML god or anything, so I may not understand the actual operations of why or why not, but I certainly would like to.

While not a built-in solution, this is possible with an extension. Please see:

Hmm... I will try that extension. It may work for the domains that I need it to.

I post the question on behalf of all those (myself included) that don't want to spend their lives researching what is a legit password utility, and what siphons your credentials to some forsaken land for abuse. Alternatively stated, I don't want to have to trust a password manager that isn't written by an OSS browser team.

I get that plugin kinda sits inbetween, so not off the table. Thanks for the suggestion.

FYI.. it doesn't work on Amazon's new site (but does on other random sites, so I'm sure it is some terrorist plot that will require me to hack their javascript, which is not my forte...)

GRRRRR. (to Amazon)

The saddest part about Amazon is that if you use your mobile phone it doesn't require that two page log in. :wtf:

Pain in the ars.

I solved the problem with the installation of the Secure Login Add-On, version 1.2.5 (last version with XUL). Homepage: https://firefox.add0n.com/secure-login.html
