Open in new background tab?

Any chance we could get a context menu option for "open in new background tab" or background window, like is available in Vivaldi and Opera?

You can get the same behaviour by choosing "Open Link in New Tab" from the contextual menu, provided you have the option "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately" not selected in the Pale Moon Preferences -> Tabs.

When it comes to Opera features, following would be really nice/useful.

It's already there in Pale Moon as "Don't load tabs until selected" under Tabs preferences.

Yes, new tabs are loaded automatically. That setting has an effect when you restore a session or window.
Now I get that you are asking for a totally different thing.

Yes, in Opera it applies to any new background tab, not restored sessions only.

Using Mouse Gestures Suite, R-click+Down=open in background; R-click+Up=open in foreground tab.
Away from a link, these will each give a new tab.

You can have this and a lot more with Tab Mix Plus, for example.
