Transform Fossamail into an addon (maybe?)

Hi everybody,
I don't konow if this is the right forum area where post this, in this case, sorry in advance.

I think the end of Fossamail's developement has made all of us sad.

There is an addon callled Simple mail (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... mple-mail/) that can transform Firefox (and even Pale Moon) in a mail client, however its functions are a little limitative than Thunderbird or Fossamail.

So, is maybe possible to transform Fossamail into a Pale Moon's addon? Once developed, no new function will be added, and no additional work would be required to this addon.

It's not possible to just "convert" a full application into an add-on. Even though FossaMail and Pale Moon build on the same platform, they are two entirely different applications.

On a technical level one would have to figure out how to make the mork, ldap, and mailnews components into loadable xpcom binaries which is the hard part.. Then simply rewrite the mail application chrome to run off an extension chrome and resource uris then create entry points via menus or buttons and of course highjack the mailto protocol handler.

Now that everyone knows exactly WHAT to do I egerly await absolutely no one to ever attempt it.

Prove me wrong for once!

News is in MailNews Core.. And Chat is FE only at this point.
