YouTube in New Tab (background/autoplay)

So I like to open more youtube videos at once (as new tabs), but obviously I don't want to play them all simultaneously, only the active one/tab.

This works as expected in Opera, video only starts playing when you click/open a tab.

Is this possible in PM, and if not, could you add this feature?

If you want, here is a rough user-script I made really quick for you that will pause videos in inactive tabs and automatically play the video in the active tab whenever you switch.

have that function you looking for...and much more nice 'stuff'. I use then for years, just pity that is not upgraded over more one year now. But still full functional exept downloader (google changed something in code) thus chances for download are 50/50, but rest are still excellent. Version on Mozilla site is obsolete, go here https://github.com/YePpHa/YouTubeCenter/wiki and download last dev. version.
Advise, use inough time to configurate

It's not quite the same as in Opera because I need to click a video for it to start playing when I switch tabs .. but still a great improvement.

Yeah Tor, I haven't thought (tried/tested) about that feature but agree with you...That is convenient to have to.
Some of features/options are litle tricky to configure...some off them will be saved as cookies (needs to be tested by deleting cookies and inport YT center config again). I'm not quite sure but I mean for the next video, not the autoplaying of the current video, there seem to be two autoplays, one for playlists, and one inside the video itself which has an "autoplay" option (videoswitch auto-play).

But, If not already exist, maybe as a feature request?

All links opened in new tabs not to load until selected/active.

It should be possible, because if PM crashes, all restored tabs are not loaded until selected.

In Options -> Tabs I already have "Don't load tabs until selected" checked though.

Tor, I've played a bit with your idea and settings, but seems that not works either.
But, there is one more add-on whose do simply, same as you requested https://addons.palemoon.org/extensions/ ... oisy-tabs/ but also without 'Opera feature'. Add-on is in active development and updated. What can happen if you ask nicely developer to consider that as feature request? Maybe just some more if's, + and ; and we'll get more convenient YouTubing

Thanks kizo!! When it comes to my original request about youtube, this is almost perfect! It just stops playback, but tab is still loaded yes..

I might ask about that possibility/feature to not load tabs until selected..
