hide or display images

Unread post by jsilver » 2019-04-15, 03:45

Would it be possible to have an option to hide or display images, preferably with an option to reload or view the image by right clicking on it? And maybe an option to only display images that are already loaded into the browser cache. This was a nice feature that was available in Opera 12.18

You can hide images with some extension, in some cases you can even prevent the browser from downloading them.
I believe the browser loads from cache already. If it doesn't it's because the image was not in the cache.
I'm not sure about reloading, but if you open the context menu on <img> elements you have a bunch of options. Or do you mean something different?

The Web Developer extension (in the Classic Add-ons Archive) includes options to hide or disable images. Right clicking on an image marker allows you to use the 'View Image' command to view only that image.

There is:

Preferences -> content -> Load images:

This does not have a per-image option to load them though, but you can change this setting on the fly then reload a page with images if needed.

How do I access the Web Developer extension specificly? I got the archive and installed the file, but now I'm not sure how to proceed.

Right click on any toolbar and select to display the 'Web Developer Toolbar'.
