Hmm.. definitely something that should be exposed in the UI. Thanks for pointing that out.

In the meantime, you can achieve this by setting network.proxy.socks_remote_dns to true in about:config.
Off-topic:
As an aside, if you want to browse properly anonymously using TOR using it as a gateway for normal websites, I do recommend you use the dedicated TOR browser for that instead of Pale Moon, since it uses additional patches (that are unacceptable for us) to disable certain features that could potentially de-anonymize you in certain circumstances.
