[Discontinued] Experimental Pale Moon 12.0 for Linux

Unread post by Moonchild » 2012-05-03, 22:38

NOTE: This experiment has been abandoned due to lack of significant performance advantage and overall very small potential user base.

An experimental build of Pale Moon 12.0 for Linux has been released to the public.

This is for the curious only - no official support is given, but feedback about general operation or showstopper bugs will be appreciated.
You can find the build on the Pale Moon Works in Progress page: http://www.palemoon.org/WIP/ Archived builds page

Please leave feedback/comments on this thread: http://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=745

Note: initial tests show very little difference with Firefox or other Linux browser flavors (at least in a virtual machine -- native might be different?) - meaning providing Pale Moon binaries is likely not going to become a development branch, unless there is a real need for the different UI on Linux (but then again, most Linux people are savvy enough to use "Customize...", and the Linux UI of Firefox is already close to the "old school" Firefox, unlike what is being done on Windows)
