Pale Moon 20

Post by Moonchild » 2013-04-04, 08:51

An important change of plan:

Because of a number of critical vulnerabilities (not exploited in the wild, but they could be given some time) in the Firefox 19 code base that are proving most difficult to patch up due to code dependencies, as well as a few important added features in the Firefox 20 code base (canvas blend modes and per-window private browsing as well as performance improvements) I've decided, after a number of failed attempts to properly back-port critical patches, to switch code base to 20, to provide the best possible browser for everyone.

So, contrary to my previous announcement that the next major version would be 22, it will be v20 instead. Please allow some time to implement Pale Moon specific code changes and some testing. Thank you for your patience.

UPDATE: Firefox will release a version 20.0.1 next week for some chemspill fixes and Pale Moon's new version release will be held off until the bustage can be patched with the Firefox 20.0.1 release update fixes. The new version of Pale Moon will therefore be 20.0.1, and there will be no public release of 20.0 (this will be for beta testing only)
