Got the Blue Screen of Death in 64-bit Pale Moon
Hi, I got the Blue Screen of Death in Windows 7 when switching tabs in Pale Moon x64, within my second day of using it. It said something about a memory management error. I switched to the 32-bit Pale Moon, and haven't encountered the same error again in one week of use.
Also, the 32-bit version seems noticeably faster at handling pages with intense JavaScript. This might be because Mozilla's JavaScript engine is optimized for 32-bit builds.

It's very possible that you have an issue with your 64-bit graphics driver. Because Pale Moon uses hardware acceleration, it will intensely use your native 64-bit graphics driver which may not always work well, depending on driver version and hardware used. Unfortunately, drivers are still a bit hit-and-miss at the moment when it comes to 64-bit versions; mostly because there are not many 64-bit hardware accelerated desktop applications out there (games are the main focus for that, and those are invariably 32-bit)
This probably also contributes to the lack in performance you noticed in the 64-bit version - if something is buggy at the driver level, it will impact the application. Suggestion is to continue using the 32-bit version for now.

I have the same problem cause by a faulty RAM. Have you check that already?

Is there a setting that I can change in About:Config to disable hardware acceleration?

Go to Menu -> Toolbars-> Options-> Advanced -> General -> Browsing - Scroll down to. Use hardware acceleration when available - uncheck

I will give the 64-bit version another try without hardware acceleration.

I have no problems with the 64bit build and yes it runs a little slower in benchmarks.
But benchmarks are not so important. The x64 build runs smoother

I’ll just stick with 32-bit because it works better with my slightly older 64-bit Windows Machine! Still no problems at all with it!

Re: Got the Blue Screen of Death in 64-bit Pale Moon
It's what I recommend - disabling hardware acceleration will completely negate the advantages of running native 64-bit, and then some. The 32-bit version is recommended for most systems, including 64-bit operating systems.
