Palemoon takes long time to launch

Hi everyone,

I am operating Palemoon on Windows 7 Professional x64. Just recently, I installed a fresh OS on my new SSD. Everything runs golden, except all of a sudden Palemoon 15.3.2 x64 takes at least 2-4 minutes to load. I closed the browser, ran ccleaner and cleaned the cookies, history thinking that might clear up a few things. I launched the browser again after cleaning, and I am having the same issues. It takes at least 2-4 minutes to launch. In my task manager, it shows Palemoon running, but it doesn't say "not responding" which is at least a good thing.

Before I uninstall, what could be preventing Palemoon to launch instantly? Here is a list of addons I have...

Collusion (currently disabled)

HerpDerp (replaces youtube comments with herpderp and its enabled)

I have never had problems with Palemoon in the past. It had run flawlessly. I will see what the devs or community has to say before I completely uninstall the program.

Edit: I disabled all of my addons, cleared the Windows temp folder and same issue.

Edit 2: I went forth and restarted my computer, because thunderbird was also having the same issue. Chrome and my other applications were not affected. The restart fixed my issue and everything is back to normal.

Glad to hear it was a quick fix. I guess it was a glitch that would affect all Mozilla software, regardless of vendor, and you'd likely have had the same issue with Mozilla Firefox in that case. Possibly something in the file system or DirectX fell over that got fixed by the restart - rebooting is always a good thing to try when you have issues, before trying to reconfigure software.

Definitely, but it sometimes only occurs to me after I have been putzing about for a while and getting nowhere. It's a bit like realising that System Restore is a GREAT way to disable the auto-loading of viruses so that a disinfection will be so much easier. Such are the consequences of too much beer LOL.
