Attention to all Pale Moon on Windows XP users!

We will no longer provide updates for Windows XP beyond version 26.5.0 of Pale Moon.

With version 27 just around the corner, we ask that all Windows XP users switch off automatic update checking in Pale Moon to avoid potential problems with incompatible updates. To do this, go to (Tools->)Options -> Advanced -> Update, and select "Never check for updates":

Although we will attempt to automatically sort users into the right channel based on useragent, it is possible that for some user configurations (e.g. those using a useragent spoofing extension or "privacy" tools) our web server cannot see that you are on Windows XP and would in that case try to serve you an incompatible browser version.
To completely avoid that chance of disaster, as well as potential accidental issues in the future (and unnecessary network traffic/server requests for us), it is "better to be safe than sorry" and switch off this update checking beforehand.
