When initially drafting the v26 milestone release, I indicated that it was going to be definitely this year. We're
very close to having it release-ready, but it's not entirely done yet and could use some more field testing. We're also implementing some extra, active security features at this moment, and still need to iron out a few Javascript things.
While it
would be possible to release later this month, I've decided against it. This milestone will bring about major changes and the last thing I want to be responsible for is ruining people's holidays and end-of-year celebrations with potential browser headaches. So, it will be released when it's ready, after the holidays, somewhere in January!
