... problems and is difficult to completely turn off. It is also not very user-friendly. And the developer deliberately sabotaged another extension (Adblock Plus) in order to try to get money for himself. I wouldn't be recommending it so easily.

Try the add-on AdBlock Plus and use the Adblock Pop-up Blocker if it needs it, sometime Adblock alone is enough.

Re: Quick (and hopefully simple) question
... may understand why i keep this on; many iffy submissions in there that redirect for referral spam and other iffy things, and using this on top of adblock plus and noscript makes sure that as little as possible slips through. Beyond that there's the fact i run Palemoon in a sandbox, so if anything ...

Re: Manualy adding site certificates into UnTrusted List?
You can easy block ads with the addon "Adblock Edge".
Tracking can be easy blocked with just allow cookies from the original host- or better: make a whitelist with for example the "Cs Lite Mod" cookie-addon.

Re: Ghostery 5.0.3
... There's no arguing Ghostery is a resource hog and is a serious drag on any system running a CPU having a PassMark of less than 3000. Fanboy Adblock Plus subscriptions do take care of plenty and as reported in my post above I run the setup you describe. Like you, I always recommend that. ...

Re: Ghostery 5.0.3
To be honest, I'd always recommend using Adblock with the Fanboy's Ultimate List rather than Ghostery. I've found, generally, that Ghostery is more of a performance hog.
