Re: Can no longer view video from Hulu/Yahoo
We've never had MSE + MP4 working on Linux (without jumping through hoops, anyway). I don't think it is an MSE issue (just tested on a current trunk build that does have MSE working). It looks like they are forcing Flash/DRM ("protected content playback").

MSE + MP4 is not currently working on Linux. This will be fixed in 27.1.

Re: Twitter video fix not implemented in Linux version?
MSE is not enabled by default for our Linux builds due to some known issues with it. I have been working on it and it will be enabled by default in Linux as well in v27.1.0.

Re: can't play videos on vimeo and dailymotion
Thanks; the name "libavcodec" had me confused. Most Gentoo users run with ffmpeg, but a few run with libav. It's one of those situations where "there can only be one". When 27.1 is released, the announcement should mention that it'll work against either of ffmpeg and libav. Till now, all the talk h...

Re: can't play videos on vimeo and dailymotion
No, only the headers needed to build against will be bundled with Pale Moon's source. Pale moon will check for libavcodec to be installed on the system (it is a component of FFmpeg and LibAV). gst-libav is nothing more than a wrapper for GStreamer to use LibAV. In 27.1, we will be essentially bypass...

Re: can't play videos on vimeo and dailymotion
We will have bundled headers to build against (see https://github.com/MoonchildProductions ... rms/ffmpeg), and will specifically be looking for/using libavcodec.

Re: can't play videos on vimeo and dailymotion
So maybe then I did something wrong and most other users on Linux could watch H.264 videos on Linux without having installed this gstreamer packet and without 3rd party plugins? No I doubt you did anything wrong. GStreamer is still required on all distros at this point. It won't be until Pale Moon ...

Re: 1080 video on youtube
I've spent the last couple days working on adding support for ffmpeg 3.x. Hopefully it will land in trunk soon.

Re: can't play videos on vimeo and dailymotion
May I suggest to include this packet in the repository - I mean as a dependency. So everybody could just install PM and H.264 would be possible to watch from the beginning on. Thanks for the suggestion, but Pale Moon on Linux will no longer be dependent on GStreamer for H.264 video beginning with v...

Re: 1080 video on youtube
There's some known audio issues when using MSE + WebM, and MSE + MP4 isn't working on Linux yet (will be fixed in v27.1).

Re: YouTube troubles on Pale Moon 26.5.0. Ubuntu
GStreamer 0.10 is very old and many distros are dropping it in favor of GStreamer 1.x (which Pale Moon 27 is using). there used to be a PPA available for older *buntus, but I think it was taken down.
For what it's worth Pale Moon 27.1 will be dropping GStreamer for video support in favor of ffmpeg.

Re: YouTube troubles on Pale Moon 26.5.0. Ubuntu
It depends on your distro. It's also possible that something happened to your profile when downgrading from 27 back to 26.5. Try using a new profile.

Re: 1080 video on youtube
Unfortunately yes. Our current MP4 support (using GStreamer) simply does not work with MSE (needed for 1080p video on YouTube).kovacslt wrote:This does mean, that on Linux I have to wait for the 27.1 to be able to play 1080p from youtube.

Re: YouTube troubles on Pale Moon 26.5.0. Ubuntu
You need the GSteamer 0.10 packages. Note that MSE has never been supported in Pale Moon prior to version 27.

Re: 1080 video on youtube
It's a known GStreamer issue. Enabling MSE likely won't make a difference as GStreamer cannot be used with MSE. This will be fixed in 27.1 when we drop GStreamer for video.

Re: Audio mp3 player disappears
Firefox 50's media support is vastly different than Pale Moon 27's. That said, I am actively working on dropping or use of GStreamer (the first major step towards that will be in Pale Moon 27.1).

Did setting media.gstreamer.enabled to false solve the crashes?
