What is it called when a browser holds onto an IP?
So over the years, many, many years in fact. I have discovered with Firefox and Pale Moon that if I launch the browser and then connect to a VPN I won't be able to surf. I have to connect to the VPN first then launch the browser. Also, when I have the browser open and I change VPN locations, I have ...

It's not an angry comment! I just stated about what I read. I didn't insert profanity or otherwise. Give me a break.

Re: A HTTPS Everywhere replacement
I don't care about Lets Encrypt. I'm going by what I've read, and that is Google wants to see websites use TLS. End of story.

Re: A HTTPS Everywhere replacement
The Internet as a whole wants to go full blown HTTPS, and Lets Encrypt is helping with that Not realy. Read https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?p=117501#p117501 That has NOTHING absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact the Internet wants to go TLS. And some of the backers behind Lets Encrypt: ht...

Re: A HTTPS Everywhere replacement
Using TOR or a VPN are unnecessarily complex and/or costly for the average user. They are not really. Especially Tor. All it is, is a browser after all and a VPN is just client software unless you imbed it into your router, and you really don't want a VPN connection full time as PayPal and your ban...

Re: A HTTPS Everywhere replacement
I can tell you that with my website (listed in my sig) I use CloudFlare (a reverse proxy) and they solve mixed content by deploying HTTPS Everywhere and something else. So I had a lot of imgur pictures hosted, but non of the links started with HTTPS, but CloudFlare fixed that on page load. Now it se...

I use the same forum software with two different sites. I've never had any complaints like this myself. I guess the E-mail could be changed to contain a link to
Moonchild, the E-mail php file is in language/en/email.

Re: Microsoft Paint to be killed off after 32 years
I play the lotto, two in total: the state lotto and Mega Millions which is a pool shared by all the states and the U.S territories. I always use the same numbers and I reckon eventually my numbers will come up. Might take 30 years. But I have faith it will happen. When it does and if I when Mega Mi...

Re: Malvertising Campaign Mines Cryptocurrency Right in Your Browser
I hate to say this, but looking at the coin-hive site, it seems like a really great way to generate revenue all the while getting rid of those pesky and annoying ADs. You can adjust how much of a person's CPU is used so that you don't tax their complete system. 20%-30% sounds reasonable. Besides, ma...

Re: Dropbox - blank page since 27.5.0/64bit
I've had nothing but problems with Dropbox before. Could have been my add-ons, I don't know. But it pissed me off and now I mostly use Box.com. Their website isn't as asinine.

Re: Ridiculous CPU load (50% to 99%)
I'm wondering if this is add-on related. Have you tried safe mode in PM? Also, process explorer could help narrow it down. Like what was mentioned already, something could be hooked into Pale Moon. You could try Auto Runs and make sure you don't have crap starting with your computer that shouldn't b...

I can't remember if it was HTTPS Everywhere or Encrypted Web, but when I installed it my browsing slowed down to a crawl.

I can attest that omni.ja is a normal safe file that's part of PM and other Firefox-based browsers.

Re: Ccleaner compromised - check what version you're using!
The executable should have had a hash to compare with, but most users wouldn't know the first thing on how to use that. I think what it comes down to is lack of watching your server access logs and enforcing good security. For me personally I use layers. Some small and trivial and others big like a ...

Re: Ccleaner compromised - check what version you're using!
Okay, here's a screen shot. You'll notice that Disk Clean up doesn't show any Temp files at all, while System Ninja shows over 50 MB worth of Temp files. So I guess by comparing the two, once I run Disk Cleanup to get rid of upgrade log files and service pack backup files, subsequent runs of Disk Cl...

Re: Ccleaner compromised - check what version you're using!
But I also use System Ninja and it will nab Temp files you never thought possible! Go ahead and check it out. You may be very surprised. This may be off-topic, but-- 1. Researching System Ninja, one reviewer (2 years ago) called it malware, saying, "I don't care if Opencandy is supposedly not perma...
