Re: Trouble with Atlassian/Confluence (atlassian.net)

Do you get any message on the web console (F12)?
To make sure, open the console and refresh the page. If something appears copy it and paste it here.

Re: ηMatrix/eMatrix support thread

This is a test release: https://gitlab.com/vannilla/ematrix/-/tags/v4.3.1

I need people to check if the new host file appears, both after an update in an existing installation (you might want to export to file the old settings) and in a new profile.
Thanks.

Re: Search engine questions

If you use the search plugin, you can use the search bar's dropdown menu to switch engine.
It's a bit tedious, but it uses the browser's UI instead of quirks of a specific engine.

Re: xpcom strings

I'm not an expert of XPCOM either, but "NS_NAMED_LITERAL_STRING" currently expands to const nsDependentString n(reinterpret_cast<const nsAString::char_type*>(s), \ uint32_t((sizeof(s) / 2) - 1)) in which the second argument is supposed to be the length of the passed data, in your case "test". Becaus...

Re: HTTP3 support.

I'm really out of the loop with the new HTTP features, so all I could gather is that they devised new versions of HTTP to guarantee packet order and reliance agains packet loss when using UDP. But isn't reliance and packet ordering the purpose of TCP? Are they going to implement congestion control i...

Re: Github, Gitlab, or something else?

If it wasn't for the issue tracker the quickest solution is to use git's own self-hosting solution. Some other alternatives I can think of but never tried are Gitea and Gogs. I've seen people talk about them but I don't know the internals so I can't say if it's posible to fill the issue tracker with...

Re: Problem with add-on update server?

Might be an extension having troubles with the process and thus blocking everything, maybe perhaps.
While we wait for a response by people with better knoweledge, this is something you might consider.

Re: Online payment failure

Best to figure what to allow on a specific site than have to turn it off entirely - nMatrix is the best in this regard :D Google Captcha is terrible since it loads scripts lazily, so I'd have to refresh the page multiple times for each subdomains used by Google. Since online payments are relatively...

Re: Online payment failure

I had no problem with PayPal; in fact, I just made a payment like two days ago through it.
I'm using the native user agent (i.e. without any Firefox or Gecko strings) and had no problem.
I do use a content blocking extension, but I turned it off and things worked correctly.

Re: Combine address and search bars

I'm fairly sure you can do something like that by enabling searching from the address bar and removing the search bar through the customize panel.

Re: ηMatrix/eMatrix support thread

Hi Vanilla, some filter lists in eMatrix are no longer supported or obsolete. " Malware Domain " and " Malware Domain List " have links to malware content dating back to 2017, they can be replaced by the UrlHaus-Filter list which is more performing and updated much more frequently: https://gitlab.c...

Re: Graphics memory usage

Unfortunately for you the first thing you have to do is trim your extensions, as back2themoon said.
Start by removing NoScript and clearing the cache, etc. Then move to extensions installed through Classic Add-on Archive.

Do you use a cookie-controlling extension? Have you tried in safe mode or with a temporary new profile?

If all you need is an ad blocker, just install ABPrime or Adblock Latitude.

YouTube is a known issue, but it's on the website side not Pale Moon.
What you are experiencing is Google designing a website to work only on Google Chrome and Google Chrome derivates.

Re: OFTEN USED SITES ARE UNTRUSTED

Have you restarted the computer after uninstalling stuff?
Alternatively, do another clean install of Windows but this time don't install antivirus software. Of course only if you can and want to; the solution is probably simpler but this would eliminate some of the possible problems.

Re: Prompt enabled. Download default action Save versus Open

This isn't really a problem with the browser, but rather with Windows. If I remember correctly if you select save then the next time the prompt appears it will select the save option, but it has been a while since I actively used Windows for more than testing certain applications so my memory is a b...

Re: Unable to click links on news.sky.com

I can click on various elements and navigate to a different page, however if I try to select one of the headlines nothing happens.
Hovering over them shows an animation in which all text and images disappears and clicking on them does nothing.
Is this what you are experiencing?

Re: Forget about this site delete all the cache

I'm not obsessed with selective deletion of cache To be honest, only people obsessed with caches will bother with them. The purpose of caches is to be an invisible entity speeding up whatever it is that the program does (in the case of the browser it avoids re-downloading resources), so normal user...

Re: dragging files from Outlook to the browser

Just to make sure, if you try to upload files using mouse clicks (click on button, select file from dialog window, click upload) does it work? Assuming you can do that, that is.
If it doesn't work using buttons then the issue might be more complex than what you are experiencing.
