Re: OFTEN USED SITES ARE UNTRUSTED
no way do i want to be responsible for compromising PM which i've worried about so as i okay'd the little window after ticking the 3 questions ... if i was able to delete that particular file ... have no idea of the name yet, would PM still be compromised? It depends on how this certificate was ins...

Re: OFTEN USED SITES ARE UNTRUSTED
is there an overseeing official body or group backed by the law or whatever, who could put pressure on them to force them to do the right thing and get their house in order? No, because they are not doing anything illegal. What they are doing is giving you a choice: either you trust the program to ...

Re: OFTEN USED SITES ARE UNTRUSTED
Breaking a lance in favour of AdGuard, they do promise to keep you safe, so even ignoring this whole certificate ordeal in theory you still have some security... However , they shouldn't be doing this whole ordeal in the first place. Analyzing the net traffic isn't the right way to do it, especially...

Re: OFTEN USED SITES ARE UNTRUSTED
In hopefully less technical words: Certificates are basically a way for websites to tell you their identity, and if the browser thinks the identity can be trusted it will allow you to actually reach the website. This identity can also be used to verify if you are on the correct website, e.g. to avoi...

Re: OFTEN USED SITES ARE UNTRUSTED
Telling someone to go look for eMatrix will likely turn up empty since it doesn't show up as that until after you install it which just makes it confusing if you're not aware. https://addons.palemoon.org/search/?terms=ematrix https://addons.palemoon.org/search/?terms=%CE%B7matrix This conversation ...

Re: OFTEN USED SITES ARE UNTRUSTED
ψMatrix is also a nice alternative
Alternatively, when programs and fonts will start catching up with Unicode, I might use this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taito_(kanji)

Re: OFTEN USED SITES ARE UNTRUSTED
I know, it's an upside-down micro symbol which I didn't feel like figuring out how to type. Still, people refer to "micro matrix" as uMatrix and everyone knows what it refers to. When I had (micro) uMatrix, it showed as uMatrix and not some other letter like nMatrix does. It was still worth pointin...

Re: ηMatrix/eMatrix support thread
I released 4.3.2 as stable, so those with automatic updates will get the new version eventually. For something different, is anyone using the "cloud storage" (which really is just piggybacking on Sync) feature? I ask because since it's not a feature I'm interested in (nor I can use, since it require...

Re: OFTEN USED SITES ARE UNTRUSTED
Just a heads up, but all four of those can be found here: https://addons.palemoon.org/extensions/
The funy thing is that if you search "ublock" there you get three of them.

Re: Dear developers, which Editor/IDE do you use to develop extensions?
It's cryptic. I don't understand it. Extensions use the same javascript as web pages do, plus a few functions and global variables not available on the web. If anything, most extension developers are actual "old timers" with the language or have learned from said people, so they tend to use feature...

Re: ηMatrix/eMatrix support thread
vannilla , probably people need a way to add hosts file URLs of their own. The extension already has the ability to add individual host entries. I don't really understand your request. Users can load their own host-based filters, so if they don't like the defaults they can load a new list and disab...

Re: ηMatrix/eMatrix support thread
Another test release: https://gitlab.com/vannilla/ematrix/-/tags/v4.3.2 The old host files should be deleted now after updating. You might want to also check if your custom settings are kept, because even though I checked and nothing seems out of the ordinary, I might still have overlooked something...

Re: Dear developers, which Editor/IDE do you use to develop extensions?
The built-in editor provided by my OS. My OS is GNU Emacs. By the way, UUID/GUID are unique by definition (I think it has been proven mathematically, but I don't remember right now) so you can generate as many as you want without incurring in a conflict for a long time. It's much harder to be unique...

Re: Trouble with Atlassian/Confluence (atlassian.net)
It seems that he did. Sorry, I missed it. Anyway since even a new profile doesn't do the trick, the cause can only be that error shown in the console. Unfortunately it's a black box so we can't know if it's caused by a browser-specific quirk or by some feature not implemented by Pale Moon.

Re: Trouble with Atlassian/Confluence (atlassian.net)
but I specifically tried safe mode so it was taken out of the picture. Sorry, it's not that simple. NoScript can still cause issues even on safe mode from what I can recall. You should really try a new profile, especially since you are out of official support since you are using NoScript regardless...
