Re: Pale Moon 12 Issues?
Cowboy, feels like you're not even reading what I post. You have a 'problem' with Pale Moon, you have no clue what it might be. You install a different version of Pale Moon - umm why? Is that your usual response to a 'computer' problem, add more software in the blind hope that it will fix it? Do you...

Re: Pale Moon 12 Issues?
Gotta be something your end Cowboy: I fired up Pale moon 12.1x64 (uses roughly 20-30% more memory than x86) over 12 hours ago with a session of 29 tabs, currently 56 tabs open for a Committed of 832MB, Peak working set of 978MB and a Private working set of 755MB. Crashes, what are they? Check that y...

Hi Libra, it looks like you clicked on a BBC news RSS feed link, I'm not sure how to get rid of or hide it though.

Re: Task Bar - two icons or one? . . . . .
<I don't use most of the 'pretties' from W7, I like my Taskbar to contain the programs that I'm actually running, which often spill over into a second row (with the default pinned items, this would make a third row).> Are you using Pale Moon x64 or x86; same version on both machines? Did you manuall...

Re: Home Page.
When it come to Google results: I frequently search for files, drivers etc. and Google results are usually over-populated with scam/crap-ware affiliated sites, sometimes to the second or third page of results, completely masking the real data I'm seeking. I have no real issue with their privacy poli...

Check that your antivirus (sandbox?) and firewall have allowed Pale Moon access?

Re: Pale Moon 12.1 Public Beta 3
Due to a possible problem with some forum software, I suggest that regular users of forums do NOT use this version until we've had time to investigate further.
For general browsing, it still looks good so far.

As privacy and tracking concerns have been brought up, studying the privacy policies may help you: https://startpage.com/eng/privacy-policy.html https://duckduckgo.com/privacy.html https://ixquick.com/eng/protect-privacy.html Similarly, you may be somewhat surprised when you compare the privacy poli...

I run it from the Command or Run prompt: "C:\Program Files\Pale Moon\palemoon.exe -no-remote -P" but your links look like the -no-remote is the key (missing) factor.

Re: Home Page.
If I'm testing Pale Moon pre-releases and running comparisons across a variety of Mozilla-based browsers, I set them all to about:home. For my normal usage, it's mostly the previous session. A clean browser start up goes to DuckDuckGo: https://duckduckgo.com/ - except for Pale Moon, that has http://...

Re: Bug. Pale Moon is permanently hostage to failed Addons
Quick comment Alan (I've not fully read the post, very busy today): merely disabling part, or all, of a 3rd party security software does not mean that it's fully deactivated - just like uninstalling it does not mean it's fully cleaned out - when it comes to the point where you're suspecting a securi...

Julio - I'm pretty sure you're aware of most of this but I'll type it out anyway ;) , if you make a habit of visiting those sites, switch User to a limited account. You're better protected if you disable Java (don't visit there ever in IE if you have Java installed), keep all your Java, Flash, Shock...

Re: Using Pale Moon 64bit,Have a Memory Exposion After 6hrs!
Hi Cowboy, I've had Pale Moon x64 open for close to 8 hours now, from 2-30+ tabs at any one time; I opened 24 at the same time early on, a minimum of 25 sites/27 tabs open for at least 6.5 hours - I don't see any sign of any excessive memory usage, my Peak Working Set is at 700MB, I'd say that was p...

Re: Intended changes in 12.0
I had a look at what is now in Nightly regarding startup performance and basically what they are messing with there is interfering with Windows' prefetching and superfetching system . They are talking about deleting .pf files and the likes. Deleting files from under %SystemRoot% seems pretty risky ...

Re: End of support for 3x version
My guess is that updates will be unlikely if there's no Mozilla code to base them on, security fixes may still be possible. I'm sure Moonchild will keep us updated on this soon

Re: Intended changes in 12.0
A quick note on PDF integration: You are at all times better off opening foreign formats in the designated external applications (Adobe's plug-in has always been poor, I recommend to simply download and open in the standalone reader). What's next, integrate support for Openoffice Formats? Spreadshe...
