Re: Adblock Edge discontinued in favour of uBlock
But... if uBlock's Dynamic filtering does the same (?) as uMatrix, what's the point of the latter?

Thanks both, I'll try it. Seems it can replace a couple of other extensions, too.

Re: Upcoming changes to Flash Player’s extended support rele
Please note: By default, Flash Player's auto update system is enabled which can cause an update to occur within an hour. To stay on the 13 release, you will need to change this update mechanism to either "Notify me to install updates" or "Never check for updates (not recommended)". This can be done...

Re: uMatrix
If I got it correctly, does uMatrix function more or less like RequestPolicy does? The latter maintains a white/blacklist which makes it easy to use, does uMatrix offer something similar or additional user configuration/interaction is required? Thanks.

Re: Help w/ Adobe Reader Vers. please
I assume the portable one means it is for a mobile device? My inclination is to download the STDU viewer and not the portable one. MSI is for commecial use, so I know that isn't the one I need. Am I correct? No, portable version means it does not require any installation and you can run it from any...

Re: Adblock Edge discontinued in favour of uBlock
The only problem I'm having with uBlock is it's element picker mode, which seems more limited than Element Hiding Helper. It does support all filters created by EHH but sometimes I cannot create certain rules, so I have to resort to Firefox portable + ABP + EHH, create the rule then import to Pale M...

Re: Help w/ Adobe Reader Vers. please
You're probably right about forms, did a quick read and mostly noted "I do very little with a reader besides read with it". PDF-XChange Viewer is also very good.

Re: Help w/ Adobe Reader Vers. please
Download the Flash uninstaller, close all browsers, run the uninstaller. Uninstall the Adobe reader too, then restart. Install SumatraPDF for reading PDF etc. files. You can also install Flash again if you want (it's not needed for the PDF reader).

Re: Enable plugin on single/specific websites?
Thanks for the info. I think some websites, while supporting HTML5 for video playback, they'll give priority to Flash if detected so when Flash is on "Ask to activate" there's no way around it. Perhaps an extension could help here.

Re: Enable plugin on single/specific websites?
So, it's impossible to keep plugins loaded/unloaded on a per site basis? That's was what I was hoping (the possibility of it). It's only possible globally.

Re: Let's Remove Firefox and Gecko from the User Agent Strin
So, I was wondering what the guiding principles are in terms of deciding which compromises get made and which ones don't? Would it be easier just to go completely one way and be either the uncompromising browser that people might use as a daily driver with a backup browser to do stuff that some web...

Re: Enable plugin on single/specific websites?
But that requires the Add-ons Manager/Ask to Activate setting, right? Never Activate makes the plugin inaccessible in Page Info.Moonchild wrote:No need for an extension.
In page Info -> Permissions, you can set individual plugin permissions for your plugins.

Well, my issue was not about selecting Download, but about selecting Open (which results in an unwanted download).

Enable plugin on single/specific websites?
Hello, is there some way to enable, let's say Flash on Facebook alone, and have it disabled everywhere else? I could be wrong here, but I think the "Ask to Activate" option (which seems to only way to whitelist specific websites via Page Info) leaves the plugin disabled, but still detectable by webs...

Re: Reasons to switch to FOSSA Mail?
I prefer it over TB because it's more stable. Of course, the differences between FossaMail and Thunderbird are currently way fewer than those between Pale Moon and Firefox. Oh, and it's not "hate against Mozilla" that convinced most people to switch to PM as you say. It's the degradation of Firefox ...

Re: Opening files/links downloads them?
In Windows at least, the file is downloaded in some out-of-the way Temp folder. The request is to open the file/link, not download it permanently. Same goes for .part files which (even more so) should disappear immediately, not store themselves permanently in the Desktop. I now remembered another in...

Opening files/links downloads them?
This could be a MacOS thing, but here it goes: when I select an MP3 file link for example, and choose Open with (VLC), the file is opened and played but I also see it fully downloaded in the Desktop (it's my default download location but 'Always ask me where to save files' is enabled). Also, quite o...

Re: Pale Moon (Mac) 25.4.0b2++ build
Maybe providing a full Mac virtual setup (via crowdfunding for example) could perhaps help, or is real hardware absolutely necessary?
