Re: "Certificate problem" issue on many sites incl. major on
The OP stated that this problem started for him about a month ago which was well before the new version of Avast came out; and he/she didn't state what AV was being using anyway, if any. My question for him/her would be: Have you changed anything on your computer around the time this problem started...

Why not try it out for a few days? You might just like it.

On PM Start Page, Make DDG Default
Why not make DuckDuckGo the default search engine on the Pale Moon start page?

That's not a link to the Atom version; that's a link to Tobin's XP build (which would be better if the OP doesn't have an Atom processor). I believe Tobin's build will have an EOL sometime in 2015. But yes, the Atom version will run on XP. Here's the link for the official Atom build: http://www.pale...

Re: New Avast interferes with Firefox; Pale Moon Also?
Actually, I had version 10 of Avast on my computer a few days ago. I took it off after about 30 minutes. There were a few things I did not like (and I didn't know anything at the time about this https scanning Avast added). To me, it seems like Avast is taking a cue from Microsoft; every other rele...

New Avast interferes with Firefox; Pale Moon Also?
I just read this gHacks article entitled: Avast’s HTTPS Scanning interferes with Firefox and other programs . I am wondering if this problem effects Pale Moon also and if it could be the cause for some of the posts here about pages not loading If anyone is wondering, I don't think it is the cause of...

Re: Web pages Not Loading (Atom-Vista)
Maybe I'll just wait to the next version of Pale Moon and see then if the problem disappears. I kind of like the concept of the portable version, because if the next install version still won't work, I'll still have the portable to fall back to. And again, this is my 5 year old's computer. The only...

Already tried both before removing the install version. The only thing left I can think of are those pesky little gremlins.steviem1 wrote:
you could also try clearing your cache and also try checking 'Firefox Compatibility Mode'

Re: Can't Access Archive ftp with P.M.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction M.C., it was my firewall blocking PM from making an FTP connection. Manually created same rule found in IE to PM and problem solved.

Any Portable Advantages?
** I understand that it is not recommended to use the portable version on a desktop . ** But for those users who do use it on a desktop, what, if any, advantages are there in using the portable version over the install version? I ask because of a problem on my son's computer ( post here ), which is ...

Re: Web pages Not Loading (Atom-Vista)
I already removed the installed version, and since the portable version works as it should, I really don't want to reinstall just to test this. If it was the AV somehow interfering, why would some sites load okay, but others wouldn't? And, I use the same AV on my own computer and my wife's, and it d...

Re: Web pages Not Loading (Atom-Vista)
I just put the portable version (Atom) on his computer, and that works perfectly. Does anyone know why this would be?
I don't want to run the portable version on his computer because I think you can't put add-ons (like ABE) on a portable version. Is that correct?

Can't Access Archive ftp with P.M.
I cannot access the ftp archives site with Pale Moon. I keep getting "The connection has timed out" message. However with IE I was able to access it. I mention this to ask, could there possibly be something wrong with my "setup" that's causing this? Thanks.

Web pages Not Loading (Atom-Vista)
This is a weird problem. I've updated Pale Moon on my computer to 25.0.2 (the regular version of PM) and my wife's computer (the 64-bit version) and PM is working flawlessly on them. But I just now updated PM on my son's computer, the Atom version, and I'm getting pages that won't finish loading, an...
