Re: custom error (about:...) pages

There's already Fierr which provides an enhanced error page, take a look at it first.

Re: Script-Heavy Web Sites Cause Browser Lag

Use an adblocker for starters, the modern web takes fifty tons of Javascript to display what's little more functional than a decade ago and that is mostly trackers and advertising related unwanted crap. Second, provide support information as prominently shown in the stickied post on the forum (and a...

Re: Downloading a language pack in advance of upgrading the PM version?

Well, like Rhett said to Scarlett... Perhaps you should, given what you said is an utter canard. The link I supplied explains my comment. The OP was commenting about PM sites. No it doesn't explain your comment. The devs have eliminated the ability of downloading .xpi files. This is a very broad ba...

Your comment is misleading, this only applies to the addons site. You can perfectly well download .xpis from elsewhere.

Re: Commenting When On Pale Moon Craps Out

When I load a second instance of Pale Moon It's not a second instance unless you're using a completely different profile. If you mean a separate window, then the extension being the bootstrap or 'restartless' kind (that doesn't prompt you to restart after installing it) - results in not being added...

Re: Unsupported Browser facebook.

That actually did help, a bit. I got facebook back, but now they've stuck me with the new crap. Gonna see if fbp can help there.... I'm using - Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:48.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/53.0 and it still shows the old interface for now. If you have PermissionsPlus, open the page info ...

Couldn't find any contact info but the XPI shows that it's MPL 1.1 licensed.

My laptop broke and I'm stuck with a backup laptop I have that has an ancient Turion64 and 1GB of RAM.
Given that smartphones today have several times that amount of RAM, the next step seems kinda obvious ;)

Floodgap still runs a Gopher server, and they have a Firefox extension whose older version works great.

You also have to accept as part of the responsibility that your actions will result in busted sites.
Goes without saying for those who think an adblocker is a magic button that does its thing instead of learning how filtering rules work and fixing the ones that break sites.

Re: https://www.smpte.org/

Tobin is right. You either accept the net as it is - warts and all, or learn everything you can about using adblock filters on your preferred adblocker - there's no point going for half measures. I'd still root for the latter because ad networks have more often than not been caught serving malware, ...

Re: Global Privacy Control

In my view, one should take control of what gets into one's browser as used to be the norm before instead of trusting big corps to do it. Use industrial strength ad blocking and you don't have to care about whether they honor these requests or not. You should decide what parts of a webpage get rende...

What does it have to do with blocking ads, or did you think that 'ad' and 'pop up window' are synonyms?

There isn't any such thing built-in.
