No idea why they'd cram such garbage down our throat
Nobody cares about desktop users anymore, ever since mobile internet usage overtook desktop usage around 2013 or so. So you will have one dumbed down interface aimed at touchscreens and learn to take it or leave it.

Re: PM 28.14.2 Github

Microsoft have had years to make their OS incompatible with Pale Moon if they wanted Newsflash - Windows is no longer a priority for them since 10 was launched. Their biggest money spinner now is Azure, followed by Office subscriptions and then only Windows. Microsoft has successfully transitioned ...

I recall using the original Adblock Plus on Thunderbird. Now I use QuiteRSS and it too has Adblock Plus built-in for blocking ads in RSS articles.

Re: Defending against DOM tracking? (Also can privacy protection be more covert?)

Is that without giving up a phone number or other PI though? eMatrix sounds like a good tool, I had mainly been using NoScript + Request Policy + RefControl. How well does it protect against tracking through DOM elements. Can it forge referrers, or will I need a separate tool for that? Can't do any...

Re: Defending against DOM tracking? (Also can privacy protection be more covert?)

I've had no problems with Twitter and turning on the poisondata option. You need stronger adblocking and updated filterlists maybe. You can find an older version of LibreJS on Classic Addons Archive, but IMO it's pointless compared to something as simple and powerful as eMatrix. Besides, the days of...

The old interface was always running on borrowed time. Once they get rid of it no amount of UA tweaking will bring it back.

(I prefer the old NoScript 5.1.9, but consider this:
That is why eMatrix exists. Blocks all content by default except those that you explicitly allow on every site you visit. Takes a while to configure for each frequently visited site but once you're set, you're golden.

Re: chrome browser could be sold.?

Try to share the original source for a news update whenever you can. The first link is just some shitty aggregator that references the Telegraph link. Coming to the article, as usual a non technical journalist misses the biggest issue here - unlike Microsoft with IE, Google controls the standards an...

Imagine resurrecting a thread after more than 6 months because you don't even understand the preceding comments where it's clear that the version being talked about is the legacy version and the updater is redundant because the legacy version updates itself.

Re: postponed loading a new background tab content, especialy YouTube or other multimedia

Yeah, that's why I said at the latest. Even if you stuck to Firefox 57, there would still be plenty of abandoned extensions that only worked properly with even older versions of it.

Re: postponed loading a new background tab content, especialy YouTube or other multimedia

thousands of Firefox extensions work Those 'thousands of extensions' were compatible at the very latest with Firefox 57, circa 2017. Had Mozilla not deprecated XUL, even today all those extensions would be 3 years out of date in their current state, and would have had to be maintained and updated t...

Re: Adobe flash player is on the EOL schedule now. Does it make big impact on our pale moon project?

If you want to keep using Flash beyond the end of the year, save a copy of the installer because Adobe plans to sabotage the plugin with their final update so it will stop working. This is in case you want to continue using websites that offer flash games.

Re: Commenting When On Pale Moon Craps Out

Make a separate post for this query, and be clear about what kind of popup. Popup windows are rare now and onscreen div popups again beg the question as to why aren't you using an adblocker with fully updated and current filter lists?
