Did you check for blocked cookies, or an adblock filter gone bad? uBlock Origin and nMatrix both have a log showing what was blocked - don't block stuff from twitter.com and subdomains, particularly platform.twitter.com.

Actually what I want is for the extension's toolbar button and menu item to be enabled or disabled based on whether it's relevant to the currently open tab's URL. So have to check both page loads as well as switching between tabs.

For example, the icon in the launcher is not as expected, consisting of a grey square with a question mark. Detail! Did the launcher icon get created by itself? I'm on Mint 19.2 Xfce and didn't face this. You can of course edit the launcher and set the icon - it is under <install location>/browser/...

Should the extension name be totally different or does one only need to add some words at the end p...

He means starting Pale Moon in safe mode (i.e. with extensions disabled), not rebooting the OS to safe mode!
Please look at the stickied topics in the general forum - there are instructions on how to provide a bug report including starting the browser.

I mean, those console messages are to do with List this and not the problem you're facing. Besides, it's a deprecation warning asking the developer to code in a different way, doesn't mean it doesn't work currently.

Luckily it now happened on my big machine (Win7-x32, Pale Moon 28.7.1) so I could take a look in the error console.
I don't understand it, but this is what it said.

I like it the way it is. If a page isn't working I can instantly know that maybe it's blocking too many things. Beats a boring on-off type status.

Came across this ancient tip for Firefox 3 saying that you need to create browser.bookmarks.livemark_refresh_seconds in about:config.
Does it apply to Pale Moon, and if not how does one do it?
