Ambassador 1.0.0 Released

I'm pleased to finally announce the initial release of Ambassador, an IRC client built upon the Unified XUL Platform! Ambassador is a fork of the Mozilla IRC application known as ChatZilla, built on UXP and produced for UXP-based applications. It features a simple, straighforward interface with a nu...

Took me a while to download, but I see that now. Lots of stuff missing or corrupt. Ugh.

Perhaps someone should bring that contradiction up with them, then? If they'll even listen at this point.

I do see a download link for a tarball of the full MDN site at the bottom of that thread. The XUL/XPCOM docs from mid-2017, when that snapshot was taken, should be sufficient for our purposes.

Re: Pale Moon Browser in Linux Mint v19.0 Repository

I see it in my software manager, but I am pretty certain that's likely because I have added Steven Pusser's PPA to my list of custom PPAs.

Re: Extension like ViewImage that works with Pale Moon?

There's some discussion about it in this topic: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=18397 There is a userscript somewhere. I submitted some updates for the XUL version of that add-on, but there hasn't been a proper release of it yet. You can download the XUL fork from github and create t...

Re: What happen with last BUILD 28 ?????

If you have added DTA, tell us how, please. In steps. 1. Open the profile manager (palemoon.exe -p) 2. Create a new, clean profile for temporary use 3. Install DTA 3.0.8 4. ????? 5. Profit I don't use DTA regularly, but it installed fine for me when I followed these steps. Considering that other pe...

I am not experiencing any of the issues you describe on any of my computers. Have you tried experimenting with Safe Mode or a new temporary profie?

Can you post some links to the sites you are experiencing these problems on?

Re: Mozilla is going completely insane: they began to delete XUL-related articles from MDN

They could have at least shuffled it into their "Archive of Obsolete Content" like everything else, but I guess they can't spare the server space or bandwidth, just like with the old add-ons. Long term, I do think it would be best to collect and organize the XUL and XPCOM documentation into our own ...

Re: Anti Fingerprinting

From what I understand, the difference between Pale Moon's built-in functionality and add-ons like this is that Pale Moon does not block access to the APIs (which means less things on the web will break) and instead implements canvas "poisoning". This means that canvasing will return slightly random...

Re: PaleMoon 28 memory and CPu usage

You'll have to narrow down which extension (or extensions) is causing the issue. Try disabling all of your extensions, and then enabling them one by one.

Can you post the extensions you have installed / info from the about:support page?

There is an updated version for 28.* on the add-on's GitHub repo, that has not been published to the add-ons site.

If you are building Pale Moon 28.x, you will need Visual Studio 2015 CE or Pro with the C++ tools.

Re: Firefox Dropping Bookmarks Description Field

You should be able to import your bookmarks from Firefox if you export them in HTML format.

As far as I know, there are no plans to remove the description field from the places database.

Re: new JavaScript Error with Plugin since Version 28.0.0

I tried testing this add-on last week. The changes work for bookmarks, but not for RSS feeds. Whoever decides to fork and maintain the add-on will need to rewrite how it interacts with the Places API. A number of changes were made in FF 40 that this add-on doesn't account for, such as the removal of...

Profile data (bookmarks, addons) is stored in AppData\Roaming. I'm not sure what's stored in AppData\Local.

Re: Pale Moon testing

That you don't also test all the changes you've made in a reproducible manner is, quite frankly, ridiculous. Reread the above post. He said that they do not use automated testing strategies - that is not the same as not testing at all. Automated testing is merely one of many testing strategies, not...
