Re: Will Pale Moon support WebExtensions?
Have you looked for anything in the Classic Add-ons Archive that will do the same thing?

Re: Group Project: Smudging your fingerprint
Assuming you mean the one on the EFF website. I honestly haven't paid too much attention to it, because the easiest way to avoid fingerprinting is to use a browser that looks like everyone else's - one of the later versions of Chrome, standard headers, not blocking too many APIs. Also they ding you ...

Overbite still works, and probably will for a while even if unsupported. I was considering forking it but haven't had the time.

Wasn't planning on it. I like the new box.New Tobin Paradigm wrote: ↑2019-05-09, 04:20Ascrod or anyone else really, if you are considering it.. DON'T do it for them.
But I must ask for clarification: would the relnotes link be in the browser's Help menu, or on the toolkit update wizard dialog?

You can bookmark the release notes page and take a look at it before updating. The relnotes page is also opened automatically the first time you run Pale Moon after updating.

Re: Preservation effort for current XUL Thunderbird extensions?
This is a long-term goal. Short term, I think it would be beneficial to archive as many as possible so that we can continue work on porting them or referencing them even if they are wiped from the TB add-ons site.

Re: I would love to have a download button
If you're down with keyboard shortcuts, the Ctrl+S shortcut for saving a page works the same way in Pale Moon as it does in Firefox.
If you need a button extension, you might try looking for one in the Classic Add-ons Archive or the Legacy Collection.

Re: Can't edit omni.ja
Most of the "chrome" (front-end) is XUL, JS, and CSS with a smattering of HTML. A lot of the application code beneath that is C++. There's also quite a bit of scripting for the build system including Python and Bash. The Windows installer uses NSIS. It's a real hodgepodge of technology.

Re: Looking for a Firefox replacement... Again.
IMHO, no chance to feel like browsing in 2003. Websites have changed since. Script heavy sites offering the joy of endless ads and tracking so one can get the best browsing experience we all are striving for. :) Borealis' actual web capabilities are on par with Pale Moon and Basilisk, because it's ...

Re: Rollback, Broke my toolbar
Did you see anything in the error console when you tried clicking on buttons? Did you try starting in safe mode or with a new temporary profile to see if the problem persisted? Without some detailed error messages, about:support info, and/or steps to reproduce, it will be very difficult for anyone t...

Re: Unable to activate webcam
Pale Moon has never supported WebRTC, AFAIK. So if it used to work, it's likely because the website changed over to WebRTC from whatever they used to use.

Re: Format for URL shortcut file so that PaleMoon will open the link inside
I guess I need to expand upon my last post. I tried creating and then opening a .URL file on my Windows 10 system, and it brings up the webpage in the default browser as expected. I think what may be happening is that the OS does a little translation when you open a .URL file and hands off the actua...

Re: Format for URL shortcut file so that PaleMoon will open the link inside
As I said, Pale Moon doesn't handle .URL files natively, so it has no way of opening that file and treating it as a bookmark, even if Pale Moon could detect that a .URLS file is actually a .URL file. Before things broke on your system, when you could still open .URL files, what browser did they open...

Re: Format for URL shortcut file so that PaleMoon will open the link inside
You can set Pale Moon to the default handler for .url files, but unless it knows what to do with them, it won't be able to open them. Apparently this was asked on the Firefox support boards as well, and the answer is basically "It's not a natively-supported format". Someone could probably make an ad...

Re: Unable to activate webcam
A script on that page is looking for "navigator.mediaDevices". I suspect it's trying to use WebRTC, which isn't supported in Pale Moon.

Yeah, apparently you need an MSDN or Dev Essentials account now to download 2015.

Sucks that they've shoved all that behind a login wall. IIRC it didn't used to be this way.

Re: Up the learning curve
I went' back to v27.x. I hope you started with a fresh profile for v27, or backed up your v28 profile first. Migrating profiles backwards through major releases like this is not supported and can cause issues. Is "Let's Encrypt" another plugin or part of the Palemoon internal routines? Let's Encryp...
