Re: Unreadable characters

2.11.1 indeed. Where is pattern syntax documented ? not in the man page (just for education, or curiosity)

@plushkava : Thanks, it does work:
fc-list ':charset=1D648'
... list of fonts deleted
Curious that my openSUSE Leap 42.3 has fonts which allow PM to show the incriminated page but fc-list ':charset=1D648' replies "Unable to parse the pattern"

Re: Unreadable characters

Here everything displays OK in PM. So since you can see them with FF, it means you have the adequate fonts somewhere on your system. Go to preferences->content->advanced in PM and equivalent in FF (wherever it be, I abandoned FF long ago) and make sure they are the same ... ... anyhow it is rather s...

Re: Unreadable characters

Do you mean the first character (to me appears like a triangle) or the rest of the "title" ? to me appears as normal text in bold italic. However, they appear as such also in "View source". I guess it depends on the font or character sets in your browser preference. I wanted to know which Unicode ch...

Re: New google layout??

Why do you guys use Google search? I have avoided Google for many years as I don't want the spying. Is it so severe insofar you do not log in to google ? all what they can know is your IP not your name ... I am compelled sometimes to log in because my institution has moved to Gsuite for mail (in ge...

Re: Free for all "off-topic" board?

I voted no, but I won't mind and actually may like some questions not directly PM-related but about other computing issues. Concerning completely off-topic threads like the one I seem to understand whose closure instigated the poll, if they are not dominant, I am likely to ignore them by title, or a...

Re: Cannot load some PDF with 28.5 (but works with 27.9.4)

I tried the same with my arrangement (no internal viewer, asks to save or view with acrobat). If I ask to view nothing happens (in the download log I find a failure message), if I ask to save I get a similar error message (slightly different as I am on Linux), It looks the original source file is pr...

Re: Page loading very slow

Nevertheless the OP page cycles the image in an endless loop, while this one https://it.sat24.com/it/forecastimages which seems to use the same input images has a way of stopping and resuming the animation.

Re: NoSquint Thread

I "tried" but apparently it interferes with something else, everything was terribly slowed down. Also I found installed two addons I never installed and did not even know what they were (Valence 0.3.8 and ABD helper) ... quite worrying. Removed all that.

Re: NoSquint Thread

I am looking either for a configuration setting or version of NoSquint, or another add-on who could do what I'd like. I currently have NoSquint 2.2.2 and I am happily using it to set per-site zooms (although I generally stay at 130%). Only occasionally I use its color setting temporarily for sites w...

I never heard of "quick find" until today. Can anybody enlighten me on what the differences with normal "find" are ?

Re: How to stop auto-download

Some time (and another version) ago I found that documents (including pdf's) were downloading despite my selecting 'view'. I got this sorted by a change to a line in the 'about:config' window which stopped this auto-downloading. If you find the option in about:config please let us know. IF there is...

Re: Forum migrated

Just to know: I am not able to find the link to show all unread posts, i.e., the new posts to topics from the last time I read them (or marked them as read); it was placed near the top of the page. Ditto for the "new posts", the one I use regularly. It is of course available in the "hamburger" icon...

I think an extremely valuable and capable contributor should never be banned. If some users don't like its style of replying they can simply ignore his posts, there are tools for that.

Re: Add the Change Timezone extension

maybe there is a similar method of changing the system time in the browser, without changing the system time in the operating system. which operating system ? Under Linux (at least OpenSuse) it is enough to repoint the TZ environment variable just before starting the browser, e.g. under sh TZ=:/usr...

Re: Pale Moon as file browser

Well, for a Linux user with no drag-and-drop, one can open any directory opening a blank tab and typing an URL like this to access directory /xxxxx/yyyy

Code: Select all

file:///xxxxx/yyyy
