Re: Qs re movng from ver 27 to 28

I just ordered a USB 3/0/2.0 2 TB external HD. I will purchase and download the Easeus home backup/restore for $29. Once I know I have this backstop in place and working properly, I will try the various options available to me for moving to 28. 1. I will backup what I need to on the external drive. ...

Re: Qs re movng from ver 27 to 28

I guess I did not make one thing clear. I have had Windows 7 since early 2013. I used the backup system that comes with it. The problem is whenever I have tried to do a restore on any level, it has always failed. I lived with that for too long. I have used other ways to backup my emails, documents a...

Re: Qs re movng from ver 27 to 28

So let me see if i understand some things 100%. I have the PM backup tool. Will save my profile? And if so, can I use it if I delete 27 and then reinstall it. What exactly does my profile save? I have no real idea of what it contains except it is important. Why is saving my profile and doing all sor...

Re: Qs re movng from ver 27 to 28

Well here are the problems with most of what has been replied. 1. I already use a copy of Portable Pale Moon. It is mostly an exact duplicate of the version on my drive. However, It has flash set to never qctivate and it always runs in private browsing mode. I do not want to get into the issue tryin...

Qs re movng from ver 27 to 28

I am still using the last version of 27 ( 27.9.4 (64-bit). I have followed the forum posts re ver 28.x and am scared to upgrade. As a reminder, I use only one device and one browser (I only own a PC and do not even want to DL any of the other available browsers). The Windows 7 restore setup has neve...

If one always uses "Private Browsing Mode" would this not circumvent this issue?

Re: Morgan Stanley Issues, again....

TY Moonchild. One last observation. Once I fixed the Java issue I did some testing using each of three Modes one can use with Pale Moon. I can log onto the MS site using any one of these settings, However, the only mode which causes the MS site to issue the Unsupported Browser warning is the Firefox...

Re: Pale Moon and Netflix

Having to log on every time I visit a site is one of the ways I maintain my privacy. I store little history and no passwords. I do not care if I have to log onto Netflx every time I use it. I would be doing this from my PC so doing it from my TV is no different. Protecting one's privacy online is mo...

Re: Pale Moon and Netflix

I have no knowledge nor experience with vpns and Netflix as I have used neither so far. I have been trying to research them to choose which one made sense for me to use. I was merely pointing out that according to techradar, it is possible to have a vpn and use Netflix. Perhaps techradar has no clue...

Re: Pale Moon and Netflix

I do have another option. I use Verizon FIOS as our triple play provider. They have dedicated what they call a virtual TV channel for Netflix. One must have an account and password with Netflix. On FIOS one goes to the virtual channel, enters their Netfix info and then it is possible to access Netfl...

Re: Pale Moon and Netflix

Thanks for the answers. I have lived happily wIthout Netfllix so far. I guess I can continue on that path and not really care. Just to be clear, I do allow per session cookies, but I do not permit any cookies to be stored on my box. I do not do tabbed browsing, I prefer multiple windows. When I am d...

Pale Moon and Netflix

I have never used Netflix, but they have a free 30 day free trial offer and I got curious. Their site is not very user friendly for information, it seems they want you to join to find answers. So can anybody who knows about using Netflix and p M please answer a few quick questions? I would want to w...

Re: Morgan Stanley Issues, again....

DOH- finally figured it out. For some reason doing the recent Java update apparently changed my plug-in settings. It basically turned off Java. I discovered this by accident. I was messing around with the Flash settings to see if that was the issue when I noticed the hard drive version of P M had Ja...

Off-topic: Also.. this is post 1800 in this thread. wow! Well Microsoft has become a hot stock over the recent past. But the reason is not because of the individual Windows users. Their big success has not been driven by Windows 10 for end users and especually not by the Edge browser of the Bing se...

Morgan Stanley Issues, again....

Over this past weekend the Morgan Stanley site stopped loading when I logged in. Nothing was changed on my end initially, then I got an update notice for Java which I downloaded. I run two versions of P M, a hard drive and a portable. The latter is used mainly for visits to financial sites and it's ...

Re: Another reminder of why I avoid (as possible) all things Google

Re Proton Mail- I made the switch. For me as a non-tech savvy person it was a major PITA. I store my emails on my system and have used Outlook Express and the older versions of Outlook Since my earliest days with email. I do not text and only use email for digital communication. I am retired so I ha...
